As part of ongoing coverage of IRAP’s lawsuit against the US government on behalf of nine Iraqis, The Nation published a story highlighting the lawsuit’s significance in light of America’s invasion of Iraq more than a decade ago. Since invading Iraq twelve years ago, the United States has failed to implement an effective system of protection for its allies there. With the rise of ISIS, these men and women have found themselves at even greater risk over the past year. The Nation quotes IRAP’s National Policy Director, Katie Reisner: “These folks have been effectively robbed of years of their lives. This is their best shot for a safe and new life, and they haven’t gotten an answer yet.”
