Today, The Wall Street Journal published an op-ed written by the IRAP chapter at Stanford University. The opinion piece features the stories of three veterans at Stanford University, two law students affiliated with the chapter and a business student. During their deployment to Afghanistan, they relied on the help of their interpreters and are now fighting to bring them to safety through the Special Immigrant Visa program.
“We call on our leaders in Congress to reauthorize and increase the visa allocation for this critical program. On the line are the lives of Qismat and many other Afghan interpreters and their families,” the authors state.
