A front page article in today’s New York Times describes the painful process faced by Iraqis applying for Special Immigrant Visas to the United States because of their work as interpreters with the U.S. military. In spite of the fact that numerous Iraqis risked their lives to assist American troops, those whose lives are in danger as a result are not getting the immigration assistance they need to resettle safely in the U.S.
